a solution to the paparazzi..

the way i see it the cranes would lift the paps with their boy'd up/dodgy/smashed in motors and store them in these windowless buildings i had a few friends construct and we can all point at them...

i suppose it does have it problems....i'm just throwing some ideas around

whilst i was driving into brighton my better half spotted this.. now i know that times are hard but surely this is one step too far..?

in other news i was messing around behind the scenes on the blog the other day and changed it so anyone can comment on any of the 'world' news that i bring to you here...or maybe just my bad grammer/spelling

resolutions....and the new year

got back from france yesterday. it was reather a pain dropping the hire car off though. a pavlova as they say in wales. what i really wanted to know was why i had to do all the legwork with the french car and the swiss airport - surely thats what i (read someone else..) pay for!


anyway...i'm in Brighton. drinking guiness, burning cds, reading the apologist by jay rayner and having to make small talk with the guy at the bar who is a photographer. oh and my favourite thing...the drunk at the bar behind me who is singing....yey. have just had to tell him to shutup because he wants to know why i am stealing the acdc! nuts.

so i don't really do new years resolutions but i do have a few general resolutions. last year i decided to stop shopping at tesco which i think i have managed fairly well - apart from petrol and using the loo. to add to my list of companies i am steering clear of i quickly added ryanair during the festive period, and in order to reduce the amount of pain caused to myself and I am now adding costa coffee. the epiphany came to me whilst travelling down the m1 eating what was probably the worst blt sandwhich known to man - or dog. i just thought moaning about places i continue to spend money in was probably a bit of a false economy. i mean i have been boycotting the costa near taunton on the m5 for years now....so why not go the whole hog.

I couldn't manage a ski holiday this year. After heading to India to experience the dirt, poverty and wonders I was tired and had less money. Then there squeezing myself on a plane to Norway to experience the polar opposite which landed me with considerably less money.

So instead I comforted myself with nice travel pictures, a lovely new years headache and the dreary january weather. I had some good books and a barrage of good cheese to enjoy infront of the fire with my lovely girlfriend. No grumbles here.

But despite all odds I give you the rooftops of Val d'Isere where I had an unexpected pint with dr howes last night in an interesting pub. Noah thought it smelt of bo, but I'm going with sick.

i suppose i have a bit of free time....

Godt Nytt År

london couldn't quite keep me entertained this festive season although i did see a great exhibit at the portrait gallery (extended till feb 1st i'll have you know). so i sneaked off and headed to bristol, devon, back to london briefly, stansted (i think it deserves a mention because of the amount of unnecessary time i spent there), norway and then back to town. where i got very drunk on cider and knocked over (i suppose) my coffee table, cooked a christmas meal, cooked another christmas meal, partook in the present giving and taking, sat round fires, walked the dog (it kind of walked me), went to hospital, enjoyed the m5 and 4s hospitality, queued with ryanair, payed ryanair more money, queued, squeezed myself into a small yellow and blue plane only to be bombarded with what i can only assume was the music thats even cheaper than the stuff for supermarkets, bought vodka, played guitar, drunk vodka, ate takeout, cooked, ice was a bit slippy, cooked, plane, brixton, pub.

it was good.
